Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association (CEEDA) was formally organized at a conference held in Toronto on December 12, 1945, under the leadership of Charles A. Cooper of Claremont, Ontario. On November 18, 1945, the Association was incorporated under the name of the Ontario Retail Farm Equipment Dealers' Association by Letter Patent. Those Letter Patents were amended in July 2006 to reflect the organizational name change to Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association.
The objective of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote the general welfare of Equipment Trade Retailers; to foster co-operation and fair trade practices among Manufacturers and Distributors in the industry; to aid in the advancement of all Equipment Retailers; to raise the standards of those engaged in retail equipment pursuits; to compile and disseminate information, data and knowledge to its members for the purpose of assuring the very best of service; to aid and protect its members singularly and collectively in any or all of their proper business relations and to do all things properly within the scope of an Association of Retail Equipment Retailers.
CEEDA is governed by a board of directors and managed by a President/CEO. Office headquarters are in Barrie, Ontario.
CEEDA has grown over the years to serve a membership of more than 200 equipment dealers throughout Ontario and the Maritime provinces.
